Q: When should I book my wedding photographer?
A: We suggest that you book as soon as you know your wedding date. We shoot a limited number of weddings per year. Once you have booked with us we are totally committed to your wedding that day.
Q: Do you require a retainer to hold a date?
A: Yes, we require a 25% retainer to reserve your wedding day. The balance is due in full 2 weeks prior to your wedding date.
Q: How much is the photo booth?
A: For wedding clients $500.00.
Q: Do you only shoot weddings?
A: We shoot everything, except babies! We love photographing families, high school senior portraits, maternity sessions, boudoir sessions, headshots, events and real estate photography! We do not shoot newborn babies so we’re going to send you to our friend Kathy Denton for baby requests!
Q: Why two photographers on the wedding day?
A: One photographer can’t be in two place at the same time plus Wendy likes wide angle lenses and Jason likes zoom lenses so you’re going to get two different perspectives of every moment throughout your day. We are a team and we work awesome together!
Q: Do you charge tax?
A: Yes, we charge 5.3% Virginia sales tax to all sessions, products and wedding packages.
Q: How long have you been wedding photographers?
A: We started shooting weddings professionally 9 years ago! We always work together and have shot over 250 weddings together.
Q: Is photography your full time job?
A: Yes. We are fortunate enough to be able to do something that we love for a living. Not only do we take photos, we are also our own accountant, secretary, billing department, IT department, album designer, website admin, and social media-marketing person.
Q: Will you travel?
A: We love destination weddings! We charge $.50/mile added to sessions, weddings and events 40 miles outside of our area. Send us a message and let us now where you need us! Over night accommodations are negotiable depending on destination.
Q: What’s in your camera bag?
A: We use the Canon 5D Mark III digital DSLR with a collection of high end Canon lenses. We use 600EX-RT for on camera lighting and off camera strobes for lighting the reception.
Q: Do you have backup gear?
A: Yes! We always bring our pro backup gear along just in case something happens to one of our main cam- era bodies. We also have fully charges back-up batteries for all of our cameras and flashes.
Q: How long does it take to get my wedding photos?
A: We will have your on-line gallery ready in 6-7 weeks. Sometimes sooner in the early months. Your USB flash drive will be delivered to you shortly after your online gallery is posted.
Q: Do you have references?
A: We have both professional and client references. We also have client testimonials and reviews!
Q: How do you typically dress for weddings?
A: We wear solid black. Our goal is to be polished and professional while also being unobtrusive.
Q: Do you have liability insurance?
A: YES. We are a fully licensed and insured corporation. If your venue needs our insurance info just let us know!
Q: Explain the “shared copyright”.
A: Delivery of your high-resolution images will include a copyright release for personal use. This means you may print your images in any size or quantity and at any lab of your choice. We do ask that you use a high end print lab (i.e. NOT Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, ect.). We will not be held responsible for images printed at low end labs that come out looking, well, not so great! Q: Will you keep my boudoir photos private?
A: We will never ever share our client’s boudoir photos! Your privacy is very important to us!
Q: Can I have the unedited proofs or RAW files? I want to do some editing of my own.
A: No. We do not release RAW images.
Q: Are you able to get the shots that you want without obstructing the view of our guests?
A: Our goal is to be as unobtrusive as possible. We also have zoom lenses so we’re getting the shots without anyone noticing.
Q: Can you retouch images?
A: Our post-production, editing and retouching capabilities are state of the art and completely professional. We color correct every photo, do some retouching and apply artistic treatment to select images in your gallery. See example! Our approach is clean and natural – smoothing skin, brightening eyes, enhancing skin tones and minor touch-ups – we do not over enhance. A lot of wedding photographers outsource their editing. We will never do this and will only work on your images in-house. Your images are important enough for us to see them through every process ourselves!
Q: How many photographs will I have from my wedding?
A: Depending on the length of time we’re shooting and the size of the wedding. A good number is 800 final images for an 8 hour wedding.
Q: How does the online gallery work?
A: After the editing we upload all of your finished images to a password protected, shareable online gallery. One of the best features of the gallery is that it is connected directly to our professional print lab. That means any of your friends and family can order their favorite prints directly from the site. This is a great convenience for everyone!
